In 1910, a group of investors purchased land to develop what is now called Brookhaven Country Club. It was Atlanta's second golf course (after East Lake) and had 9 holes until being expanded to 18 holes in 1913. Homes were laid out and built around the golf course through the 1920s, with architects such as Neel Reid and Hal Hentz influencing their designs. The past ten years has seen a trend of old homes being demolished and replaced with large infill properties in Brookhaven. |
