In 1917 The Great Atlanta Fire destroyed most of the Fourth Ward. The place where Siena stands today consisted of row house with wooden shingles and was completely destroyed. Then in the 1960’s “Urban Renewal” occurred where Siena stands today. The Civic Center and C.W. elementary school were built and a master plan for the community known as Renaissance Park was developed and became the first development in the “back to the city“ era of Atlanta. In 1988 Siena at Renaissance Park was built. In 1989, the 52 units of Siena phase I were completed. In 1991, 62 units of Siena phase II were completed.
